Program Overview

The Down-Payment Assistance Home Ownership Pilot Program is a locally funded City initiative. It is specifically designed to help buyers who may earn too much for traditional HUD-funded assistance but still face barriers due to high rental costs and down payment requirements.

This program offers up to 75% of your required down payment/closing costs (capped at $25,000) to help you bridge the gap to homeownership.

Key Financial Terms

  • Max Assistance: Up to $25,000 (Max 75% of required costs)
  • Repayment (Sold < 36 months): Must be repaid in full to the City.
  • Repayment (Sold > 36 months): 10% of proceeds (after costs) is paid back to the fund.

Strict Eligibility Requirements

  • Residency Rule: Must prove Duval County residency for the previous 24 consecutive months.
  • First-Time Homeowner: Must not have owned a home within the previous 3 years.
